PianoToSheet (pianotosheet.com, "we") is a small online tool, run by an independent developer, that turns piano recordings into sheet music. This page explains what we collect and why. Questions: support@pianotosheet.com.

Your recording

We store the file you upload only to transcribe it. The file, and the audio we decode from it, are deleted as soon as the transcription has finished (or failed). We never publish, share or sell your recordings, and we do not use them to train any model.

Your transcription

The notes we found (pitches, timings, loudness) and the sheet music made from them are kept for 7 days, so you can come back with your result link, change settings and download again. Then they are deleted. Anyone who has the result link can open it, so share it only with people you trust.

Information we keep about use

• A visitor cookie (pts_vid): a random ID that keeps your uploads private to your browser and lets us apply the daily free limit. Not used for advertising, not shared.
• Your IP address: used to apply daily limits and stop abuse. Kept with the daily counters for up to 7 days and with upload and job records for up to 30 days. Our hosting and network providers also see it as part of delivering the site.
• Basic usage events: which pages were viewed, which site referred you, and steps such as "upload finished" or "preview opened". They are tied to the random visitor ID, not to your name or email, and kept for up to 13 months. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising scripts.
• Upload and job records: file name, size, length, timestamps, status and your answers to the two optional questions on the upload form. Kept for up to 30 days to run the service and answer support requests.

Payments

Payments are handled by PayPal (and, where offered, by our card payment partner, which acts as reseller and merchant of record). We never see your full card details. We receive and keep the payer email, order and payment IDs and the amount, for accounting and refunds.

Where the data is

Our server is in the European Union (hosted by Contabo). The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and may process connection data for that purpose.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete your records early, or ask what we hold about you, by emailing support@pianotosheet.com with your result link or order number.
