Terms of Service
Last updated: November 6, 2026
By using pianotosheet.com (the "service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Contact: support@pianotosheet.com.
1. What the service does
You upload a recording. The service uses automatic transcription models to write the piano notes it hears as sheet music (PDF, MusicXML and MIDI). The result is produced by software and will contain mistakes, especially in rhythm, with free tempo, heavy pedal, other instruments or singing. It is a starting point to read, play and edit — not an official or published score. You can check any 30 seconds before paying.
2. Your recordings and copyright
Only upload recordings you have the right to transcribe: your own playing, music in the public domain, or material you have permission to use. Before each upload you confirm this. You are responsible for what you upload and for how you use the result; transcribing a piece does not give you rights to the underlying composition. Do not upload anything illegal or anything that infringes other people's rights.
You keep your rights to your recordings. You give us only the permission needed to store and process them for the periods described in the privacy policy. We do not publish your results. If you believe content on the service infringes your rights, email support@pianotosheet.com and we will act on it promptly.
3. Acceptable use
Do not try to get around the free limits by automated means, overload the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or resell it. We may limit or block access that breaks these rules.
4. Free use and payment
Free use is limited (currently any 30 seconds of a transcription, up to 3 sections on pieces over 3 minutes but never more than a third of the recording, up to 3 recordings a day) and may change. The full piece of one recording (up to 10 minutes) costs US $2.99, paid once; there is no subscription and no account. Payments are processed by PayPal and, where offered, by our card payment partner. Refunds are described in the refund policy. A paid result stays available for 7 days from when the transcription finished; download your files within that time.
5. No warranty, limited liability
The service is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it running and accurate but do not promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the transcription concerned.
6. Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.
